Literature Text

I.
It is entirely possible
To love and care for someone
You do not like

II.
Freedom is measured
Not in grand gestures they write novels about
But in the tilt of a chin
And the weight of a step

III.
Falling in love will happen
Without regard for such concepts as
Taking it slow or being cool
And admission of this sin
Is to slough off your skin and live exposed
It is the most alive you will ever be

IV.
You will be hurt
And you will be hurt often
You will be hurt by good people
Who have gone astray
By good people not fully developed
And by good people just as confused as you
No one is ever as simple as bad

V.
Identity will never lie
In the romanticized ideals that no one can be
It will live
In the furrow of your brow as you read
The way you think of those written worlds
And even in that choice of literature
It will be so much smaller
And yet so much larger than you thought

VI.
I still look good
Even if there is no man around
To tell me so

VII.
I do not know anything
And I never will
Constructive criticism welcome
